Golden Compass on Wii Question...

Hi,
I have Golden Compass on Wii and just wondered if it was possible to save during a level.
At the moment I have to complete a whole level before it saves and then if I start the next level and need to save I can't, I can only quit and then lose my unsaved data.
There must be an easier way, it takes ages for each level sometimes.
