I must admit a lot of my favourite moments are from Blackadder - anything with Lord Flashheart, Nursey, Percy and his lump of purest green, bob (where one of my nicknames comes from) and Mrs Miggins and her pie shop.
I also loved the final moment at the end of Blackadder goes forth, very sad.
To be brutally honest the only american sitcoms Ihave ever enjoyed were MASH and Soap (later Benson).

Taxi was also very passable.

But I hate Friends, Seinfeld, Frasier, Cheers and almost any other yankee show I see.

I love slackbladder!! every episode!!

vicar of dibley
fools and horses
loads more

one of my favourite moments was watching torvil and dean skate the bolero in 1984 and getting top marks!, and watching ireland get through to the quarter finals of the 1990 world cup

sad moment was watching the race where ayrton senna (my favourite driver) crashed and died in 1994.

Col Craddock .please include film, the more the
merrier, lets all enjoy classic moments!!
Back to Tv, wouldnt say funny or sad maybe into the etc catagory
The ending of Life on Mars. We all thought thats it when Sam lept of the roof, our TV screens went blank, I was waiting for the credits. Then it came back and the rest was played out .then finally when the children came running towards the camera and there was the girl from the test card reaching forward and pressing the off button of our tvs, brilliant finish to a brilliant series.
If we are talking sports (which looking atthe question, I see no problem) then it has to be the battles between Coe, Ovett and Cram in the early 80's!!!!

Do you remember when Coe broke the mile record, then Ovett a few weeks later, then Coe again. Bloody marvellous.

Just remembered another great telly moment, well for me anyway.

i remember seeing Riverdance for the first time, think it was during The Eurovision Song Contest which was held in Ireland at the time. Thought it was awesome.

The saddest- was watching the news unfold that day the Twin Towers fell, the news coverage that day will stay with me forever.
I remember those races wardy, I was routing for coe!, I also remember when zola budd got accused of felling mary slaney
And what about when the epic battles between McEnroe and Borg???

I was only young but utterly engrossed.

Who recalls when The Blue Peter Garden was vandalised?
I cried when Beckham scored that goal against Greece that got England to the World Cup. More for him really.
And what about when Johnny Wilkinson scored a drop kick in the last but last world cup final???
Film may have succeeded a couple of times with the likes ofCharlie Chaplin, but TV only triumphed twice in merging comedy and pathos. Black Adder goes forth and quite a number of episodes of MASH
On "I Love Lucy". Ricky puts Lucy on a schedule and she entertains his boss and wife for dinner. They serve frozen food and toss the biscuits from the kitchen and peg the boss in the head. That one is saved on my DVR box. I crack up everytime.
the england versus germany match 5-1 I loved that!
I was having Sky installed the day of the Johnny Wilkinson drop kick and was watching it in the bedroom. I came bouncing in screaming to tell the installers that we had just won the world cup and they barely raised an eyebrow. Bloody heathens.
The part in fools and horses when the chandelier falls down, always cracks me up, I used to do that sort of work, so to me it is just so funny.

a sad bit from a play for me was Thora hird when she was playing an old lady with dementia, so touching

another funny one is the 4 candles sketch from the 2 ronnies
Final of the world snooker at the crucible sheffield steve davis and dennis taylor 1985 ( think)
I agree that MASH was one of the best shows.
They say that 1 minute after it ended the water pressure in places dropped due to people being glued to the TV and then running to the loo. :o
Cazz my fondest memory from that 5-1 defeat of the Nazis was Motson saying "This is getting better and better and better"
