Eastenders uproar

It was a scene most people knew was going to happen � Tanya finally sought revenge on her cheating ex-husband Max by fulfilling his greatest fear - being buried alive. The show was aired on Friday and saw her and her lover bury Max in a coffin in the woods. The BBC received a large amount of complaints from angry viewers saying that this should not have been shown before the 9pm watershed. What do you think? Was it too much to show at 8pm in the evening?

I've never wrapped our daughter's up in cotton wool either, but personally didn't think it was the sort of thing young children should watch. Let's put it this way, our daughters wouldn't have been allowed to watch it & neither would our young grandchildren. I watched the film Premature Burial when a teenager & that was bad enough!

Must confess tho', I couldn't wait to tune in myself, just to see what they'd cooked up this time! It made me feel quite claustrophobic watching Max being buried alive, even tho' I can't stand the smug git!

I want to be cremated.....!

well unless you dont read papers or couldnt guess from Sean buying Coffin then I guess most were pre-warned

That would presume that ....

a) I buy and read papers that "report" this sort of "news"

and....

b) that I follow Eastenders and know what has happened/is about to.

I wouldn't consider myself pre-warned on the basis of a) and b) above.

Quite right Robinia, but as adults we are apparently capable of watching things such as this pre and prior to watershed. For those with children who allow them to watch Eastenders, or those adults affected by such scenes a pre-warning might have been an idea.

Faling that, an outright ban until post-watershed.

I agree - a pre-warning doesn't make it right for that time of night & should be shown after the watershed time of 9:00pm.

However, there will always be 'some' parents that don't bother popping into their children's bedrooms to oversee what they're watching on their little portables....!

I watched it and even though I knew what was going to happen it still made me shudder. One wonders whats going through the scrip writers minds when they come up with idea's like that!

My wife complained when I allowed my 12 yr old son to watch Kill Bill 2. Funily enough he didn't mind the burried alive scene. It was the bleeding cut on her lip in the trailers that bothered him.
We did watch that dreadfull rubbish last night and as the acting and storyline are both so poor, said son didn't batter an eyelid.

lol cheries - I saw it at the flicks in the 60's! It scared the hell out of me then, but I'd probably crack up if I saw it again! ;o}
