Who is your 'latest new discovery' ?
A new band that may have been around for years. You've just heard a track of theirs and you love 'em! Skinny Puppy is a band I stumbled on about 5 years ago and found out they were in their prime in the mid 80s!
Anyway, my latest discovery is 'Alabama Thunderpussy'; good if you like 'Southern Rock' (big guitar riffs ala Ac/Dc)

The little-known band that I bleat on about most often is Amsterdam. From Merseyside rather than Holland, they've been around with various personnel since the start of the millenium, specialising in heartfelt lyrics and great big singalong choruses. Leader Ian Prowse has been going longer still - having been frontman of Pele, another band who didn't quite make it, back in the early 90s.
A band I have been listening to for about 6 months now are 'Angels & Airwaves'. When I first heard them I thought the lead singers voice sounded familiar, and it turns out the guy was the lead singer on Blink 182, but thankfully his songs are now a lot mellower than the Blink 182 stuff.
Another band I only started listening to earlier this week are called 'Fuel'.
I am not very good at describing music genre, but if I had to for both these bands I would just say they were American Rock bands, but not heavy rock.
