Do you duff your cap to the Royal Family

Heard on the news today , that the latest parasite ...sorry 8th in line to the throne was christened today. I must say I was overcome with indifference.

You can guess my views.
Do you think we have a role for this family in the modern world ?

I think the royal family make a good head of state. Brings in tourism, undoubtedly. It's not just the americans either, where ever I have been or lived in the world people want to know about the royal family. I do feel indifferent towards the semi-royals. I think the money needs to be cut off at a point where they dont have to much in the way of charity/duties. I think prince charles does a fair bit for his dosh, and I am amazed at how much Prince Philip works. He's got an amazing stride on him for an 80 year old.

I am sure I will be shot down in flames for this, but yes I do. You only have to spend a lot of time in London, Windsor or Scotland to see the huge amount of foreigners that flock to the Royal palaces. A lot admire and respect our Queen and want to see and be part of what we have here. I have no time for the royal hangers on, but now, most of them are not on the civil list and the Queen pays for them out of her own personal funds. I personally think that we could lall earn a lot from Her Majesty in the way she has always put duty and responsibility first. She may not always have got it right, but my goodness she has done her best. And Phil makes me howl with laughter.

I think the royal family is all we have left that gives us an identity to the rest of the world, unless we want to sell them to china that is....

I don't mind the royals really.I wouldn't "duff my cap" to them though, I wouldn't doff my cap to them either............even if I wore one.lol. ;-)

I think there is definitely a place for them, I love all the pagentry and all thet goes with it, they don't actually cost much, so many tourists come to London to visit Buck house, Kensington palace etc, it is the hangers on I have no time for,

Tourism would survive quite well with out the royal family. Check France, Germany and Russia for that. I can't wait to see the back of them. People come to see the place not the people. Not many tourists will ever see any of them.
Brown may or may not be a twonk but at least we can vote him out. We are stuck with the bunch of inbreds that passes for a Royal family. We cannot say who will or will not end up on the throne. Countries with no royal head of state fair no worse than us.
Rather a president that King Charles III and that money wasting bunch of parasites that include his brothers and sister and the biggest waste of all Camilla.
We could do without gongs that mean nothing get handed out to those who least deserve them.
We will still have an identity long after they are gone. History is still history without them.
