It was always the anxiety prior to the procedure which had caused all the problems. The nurse at our local surgery said she thought that blood pressure checks were a waste of time in anxious people!
ps, bluedolphin if you are constantly aware of your heartbeat, ie. timing how long it is racing for, you are more than likely to be anxious about it and you will probably get palpitations and racing heartbeat. Try and forget it,and occupy yourself elswhere, unless, as natty says you have other cardiac symptoms. This is not a criticism, it's just advice from someone who suffers like this!
First off, you really shouldn't take your BP more than twice on one arm within the span of a couple of hours. But it is well within the normal range. Your pulse is a bit high, but that could very likely be due to anxiety as well as any activities you performed earlier that day that would be strenuous on your body?
If you want your true blood pressure and pulse readings, take them right after you wake up, before doing anything more than sitting up and walking a couple of feet. This way your body is very relaxed, and your pulse (which usually goes up after you wake up soley because your doing stuff instead of resting, and will go back down once you sleep) will be at it's normal rate. Just make sure you aren't worried about how what the results may be.
