The Dominion didn't appear in TNG at all.They first became known in Deep Space Nine season 2,appearing in the season finale,and declaring war on the Gamma Quadrant which ran through the rest of the series run.
Although I am sure Picard and The Enterprise were involved in the war when The Dominion invaded the Alpha Quadrant.
