police chase - accidents
hey all,
WHO pays for teh damaged caused by police chases...
scenario = uninsured guy goes on teh run , caught by police, but clatters into 10 cars while doing so, clearly on camera (like you see on teh tv)
who has to pay for teh damage, surely not teh owner?

If, however, the theif flees the scene and is NOT identified, whoever's cars were damaged would have to claim off their own insurers.
Don't ask me why the identification of the thief makes a difference, I just know it does - very strange set up, because the car is stolen in both scenarios, and there's no way in hell we'd ever get our money back after paying out for all the damage the little scroat has caused
