how do u reverse in a renault clio

how do u reverse in a renault clio seriously i go to put it in reverse well wat i think is reverse adn it goes forward i dunno how to reverse it all i wanna do is move it for my sister but i dunno how to reverse it doin my head in

and i kno this prob stupid question 2 ask but i dunno how to do it clio's puzzle me they relli do i prefer peugeot 207

If I remember rightly there is a collar just below the gear knob that you have to pull up while putting it in reverse.

please someone answer this question im used to driving a peugeot 207 adn when u put tht in reverse u pull gear right then down its below 5th gear but in my sisters clio its left of 1st gear so u have to pull it left then up but when i do tht the car goes forward like its in 1st and i ve tried puttin it in reverse but it just doesn't do thts y i need help

nvm people i didn't realise you had to pull tht lever thing thats stupid why not just put into gera tahn have to pull lever lol thxs anywayz

its not stupid, its to prevent accidentally putting into reverse. Its quite a good idea really and on a few makes of cars.

the googles i've done are suggesting it is a pull up collar - pull the collar up first then move it left and up - similar to a corsa.

If you look at the gear knob (on top of the gear stick), it should show you the approx location of *reverse* - sort of H+ diagram with reverse being shown as *R*... Once you've worked out just where reverse is, you either pull the stick up or push it down to go to that gear. As Redcrx says, the pushing/pulling is deliberate, so you don't accidentally change into that gear whilst driving.

on gearstick there should be a little lever under the gear knob which you pull up and put in reverse :if not press down on gear knob and select gear
