criminal records on passports
hello, does anyone know if criminal records from 15 years ago are kept on british passports? my firns who did a foolish thing 15 years ago is going ona family holiday to the usa soon and is nervous as hell incase this crime shows up on entrance to the usa..
any advice would be great.

But I am guessing what you really mean is can anyone at the US customs gate know by looking at your passport whether or not you have a criminal record and therefore refuse you entry to the US? The answer is no, they cannot.
If you search this section (and the law section too) you will find many numerous posts on this very subject. Just tick the 'NO' box on the paperwork you are give on the plane that asks do you have a record
And tell your 'firns', what ever that is a shortened version of, to stop looking nervous.

His is quite interesting. I've been wondering whether they have all the records of anyone who got a record in the uk? I doubt it very much. I do think they'd have records on dangerous people/criminals. To put a long story short I had a record which is now spent under UK law. Nothing serious. I applied for the ESTA authorisation ang got accepted straight away. Surely if I was not eligable to travel because of a past record they'd tell me I was declined. Why would they let me
