So pleased she won !!! You couldn't possibly have a Nancy with an Irish accent, however good a singer she was.

Why can you not have a Nancy with an Irish accent? It was certainly it was possible to get from Ireland to London in Dickens' time.
But I believe the intent of this production was to play Nancy with and Eastend accent,hence roping Barbara Windsor into one of the missions.As Oliver doesn't open until December or January they will have plenty of time to work on the accent.
