Did anyone else notice the way the Muslims where the nice reasonable ones and the nasty modern knights Templar where the extremists re-enacting the Crusades?

Note that once you take religion out of the equation you have a more black and white picture.
R1Geezer - I did notice it, but the show also mentioned several times the brutality of the Muslims during the Crusades.
Remember the modern day Christian zealots portrayed in the show were brainwashed - and such brainwashing amongst 'Christian' cults has happened in recent years, with devastating and shocking results.
The modern day Muslims portrayed in the show were not part of the Crusade re-enactment and so were moderate - one lad said he had seen the extreme fanaticism in a Muslim friend and it wasn't to be encouraged.
Those modern day Christians were not representative of the majority of Christians today, thankfully - but they are out there.
Do you know, I was thinking that some of the characters were written with a couple of Aber s in mind. :)

it's not just that the Crusades are coming to be seen as invasions (Muslims have always thought that), but that they were the scene of some particularly nasty Christian behaviour - such as the sack of Constinanople, which as it happened was a Christian city. And Christian behaviour often contrasted sharply with that of Saladin, a much more chivalrous commander. So you might expect nasty knights to re-enact the Crusades.
I haven't watched it yet,but from what is said here I have a thought.Perhaps the intent was to show how dangerous religious extremism is.In this context for them to portray Muslim as the extremists would have been too obvious and would have only reinforced that perception rather than provoke more objective thought about the subject.
This country will be an Islamic counry in fifty years.
We are already having debates in regards to incorporating aspects of Sharia law into our legal system or whether the call to prayer outside mosques is to be tolerated by non-believers in the same way that church bells are by the atheists.
Islam is supposedly a peaceful and tolerant religion, but is it in reality?
How many church bells are to be heard on a Sunday morning in Islamic countries?
Does radical Islam accept homosexuality, immorality, drunkeness, unmarried mothers, teenage pregnancies, drug misusers or non-believers?
How many people in this country have their hands chopped off when they steal ?
I have never seen groups of murderers hanging from cranes in this country, while the spectators chant like savages!
The BBC has long been the Biased Broadcasting Corporation, with an apathetic/Guardian viewpoint in regards to radical Islam!
Wake-up people of this country, radical Islam is amonst us and we will all be affected by this eventually!
