Children's tv programme from 80's

Does anyone remember a television programme about a welsh duck? I think he used to eat caterpillars and it was an illustrated programme. A woman narrated it. My sister loved it as a child and its her 35th birthday coming up and for a laugh i'm trying to find the dvds of it but I cant for the life of me remember the name!? Please help!

Sure it was on before Wide Awake Club! The narrator died of cancer, she was also married to David Jason.
