Boxing...How do they do it??
40 Answers
I'm watching Cinderella man, with Russell Crowe, and I can't believe neither of them are knocked out by some of those punches!!! Do some people have an incredibly high pain threshold, or what? I know it's a movie, but I'm sure it's the same in real fights?

Max Mr R used to box and is very fussy about the boxing films he watches as they exaggerate the fighting. He often says if you hit someone the way shown they would die...but they just keep getting up. Includes non boxing films too. Of course, a reasonable boxer tries to ensure they dont get hit too much.
His faves include Somebody Up There Likes Me. and The Great White Hope. He loathes the Rocky films.
He is watching Cinderella Man at the mo because he has a phenomenal knowlede of old boxers and is more interested in the technical and personal details of real life boxers.

Well max I think he'd say the the right hit would floor you, but what you see in most films is well faked of course. And quite brutally for effect.
Real boxers don't mess about but have a look at a fight and they are quite different from the films.
Even boxers who can take a punch sometimes go down to an unexpected one. Like Amir Khan last night.
