I'm trying to find out what filming is going on near where I live. Loads of huge wagons with BTFS on them, which apparently stands for British Television Film Service. Anyone else live between Melksham and Bath who knows the answer? I shall have to be really nosy soon and go and ask but it's on private farmland so not easy. They've been there for weeks and curiosity is killing me!

The huge wagons you have seen with BTFS on them belong to The Bristol Television Film Services, which is the name of the company supplying the vehicles for film and television filming.
Each vehicle has a different use, one is for costumes, another is for make-up etc.
which would make sense seeing as how it's close to Bath to use the Bristol based company.

As to exactly what they are there for, I can't help you with, I'm afraid.
you will just have to be nosy and go and ask someone.

:-)
It may be mentioned in your local paper?

Thank you. Someone here at work believes that filming for Tess of the D'urbervilles is/was done around the area. Are they still filming though or would they have finished now as it is actually being televised?
There's a way of searching on www.imdb.com for things that were filmed in your area, and it lists things currently in production so it may well list it too
A remake of The Wolf Man has been filming in that area perhaps it's that.

Looks like I've found it at last. It seems to be the new series of Lark Rise to Candleford.
