Different strokes for different folks

When trying to find someone to take a group photo of me and mates on hols my friend went up to a couple and asked them if they'd mind taking a photo, turns out they were blind. (off all the people). Now this got me thinking and wondering to myeslf why do you think they would go to such a picturesque place when they cannot see? Do you think smells are different abroad and they can experience it that way

sounds perfectly reasonable question to me too. I have been pulled up before because I hadn't phrased a question exactly right.
This is called 'chatter'bank - we chatter, we ponder, we sometimes ask something without analysing & dissecting the manner in which we ask it.
Take no notice 4getmenot - it seems as though ummmm and I got the gist of it :-)

I know what you're saying 4get, Its not rude or condescending to wonder either!, I know a blind person and they go on holiday for the warmer weather, to lie on the beach and feel the warm sand, smell the scent of the air, relax in the warm water and taste the different foods amongst many other things
If anything her holiday is just as enriching and revitalising than mine would be (If I ever get to have one!)

zac sorry you took it that way but most who know me know thats not how it was meant. Its more a curious question, I think thats much better than me saying jeez why should two blind people go on holiday... I am just curious and its nice that they still go on holiday to take in all the surroundings in their own way. I dont see why I shouldnt ask. And I havent argued the facts and said no they still shouldnt.
hello
my grandad was blind since he was 23 and always loved going away abroad with my gran, it didnt seem to make any difference, he just loved the feel of the sun and a few beers on the beach! him and my gran would go sightseeing (that sounds weird i know) but he would get it all described to him by my gran and alot of it was touch aswell. i do think the smells were different and the air must have felt different for him. he was always refreshed and happy when he came home :)
i dont think the question was ignorant at all, its the kind of thing i think about, nothing wrong with asking a question. :)
