So I read in the Guardian that the photographer is dead. Everyone has seen his picture with the Vietnamese guy being shot in the head. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/3672428.stm Anyway, I was talking about this with my dad and he says that it was also filmed, which I have never seen, and that it is even worse, because it lingers as blood squirts arterially from the headhole. Weirder he says that he saw it in a film with music by Cream. Is this true, or is my dad just a crazy old git?

Your dad is quite correct, it was filmed, from almost exactly the same view as the photographer(they must have been side by side). I haven't got a link but I've definitely seen it. There was a programme a couple of years back(Channel 4 i think) where the gunman was interviewed.

And the Cream film? Was this a dream the old chap invented back in his day? He is a bit strange. Although I don't live with him any more this is all stuff I will use to justify chucking him in a home.
A brief clip of the shooting is shown in the title sequence of the film "Head" by the Monkees (c. 1968). I'm fairly sure I've seen it elsewhere as well.
I remember watching it on the news when it happened.
I remember seeing it with the Cream music but I don't remember what the programme was.

the film version of this can be seen in The Killing of America (1982)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0157894/

although i'm not sure about the music though?
