what is the average life span of a golden ?...our first one was put to sleep at 9 years old our second one is just over 10 and doesnt look to clever at the moment. Taking him to the vets in the next day or so and to be honest dont expect to be bringing him home..fingers crossed it may be OK, but i really am expecting the worst..
Our remaining boxer was put to sleep 3 months ago. We still feel lost without her, and we sympathise sincerely with you. Let's hope the prognosis is better than you expect.
Whichever way it goes, you are doing the best thing by taking him to the vet. I hope it is something the vet can treat, and he is back home before you know it. Should it be bad news, then you know you have done your best by him.
Mine lived to 14 but the last year was pretty bad and i still feel guilty that I didn't do it earlier.Take the step if you need to for his sake not yours. I know it's sad,but vets want to keep them going as well as sometimes it's just not the right thing to do.Good luck.
