This makes me cry. (Well steve coogan's performance does - it's 'tragic').
The double act of Bernard Hill )Grandad) and Dominic Senior (young Joe) is fantastic. It's so real, lovely, touching, comic and sad. They both deserve awards.
ACtually, apologies Steve Coogan - all the actors in this superb mini-series are good, but Bernard & Dominic stand out as exceptionally good.
I don't actually care that much what happens to Bing; silly s0d, but I know I'm gonna weep buckets when Grandad inevitably dies and at Joe's reaction. Brill.

Steve Coogan's acting has got better the more serious the story has become. Grandad and grandson partnership absolutely brilliant; although the actress playing Bernadette is pretty good too.
What brillian writing by Craig Cash but I think that as an actor he is a bit one dimentional; the part he plays is just Dave from the Royle family with a different name.
