Was driving along the road near where roadworks are being done, I was going faster than 30 and trying to get through the lights (which I will never do again), there was a worker crossed the road and went to put the sign back up that had fallen over at the side of the road, I saw him and was going to pass him when he steps out without looking and I had to swerve a bit to miss him. I kept driving as no reason to stop and he was stood in the middle of the road looking really angry. Scared to go the same way to work the next day. Could I have been charged with something?

Nah - it was his fault - he should have looked before stepping out. They're all as thick as the creosote they work with....
well, apart from the one I saw the other day on the A17 who was a dead ringer for Hugo Speer (Full Monty - big dong). Now he could speer me anytime. He wouldn't even have to take his luminous vest off...
I know someone who does this for a job....and it's flippin dangerous because you get silly people driving about like you did. Lots of roadwork men have been killed this way. He could have taken your registration number and reported you to the police for a)speeding through a roadworks area, b)driving without due care and attention c)attemted injury to roadworkers.

If I was you I would write an apology to your local council and ask it to be forwarded on to said roadworker.!

And they are NOT all thick salla.....
you wont be the first and you certainly wont be the last.

i would drive that way..... the chances of him remembering you is unlikely?
I would have been angry too if you had nearly ran me over when speeding through roadworks.Surely it is safer to slow down at roadworks in a town setting as there would be likely to be extra hazards.
Dont be silly Daniella, do these navvies have portable speed cameras.

They are a dozy lot generally.

Hope you have more luck to-morrow Karmagirl.

"Steps out without looking"
It was only a joke Daniela - I know quite a few roadworkers, most of them are lovely & intelligent.
They have safety laws which they must adhere to.....the only stupid one here is the nut behind the wheel!!
and creosote isn't thick anyway,
Happened to me once, he was on the footpath, but I got him.
Safety rule No. 1.

Always step into road without looking.
And don't you patronise ME Doc....I am not silly, I know what I am talking about.
daniela stop being angry, were supposed to be nice to each other,

peace, love.

Send us a link to these "safety laws" then.

made me laugh salla :D but I do take part responsibility, shouldn't have tried to get through the lights but makes me angry that he looked so mad too cus its not like I didn't see him he obviously didn't look before he stepped out in front of me wither grrr. Still at least no one was hurt thats the main thing. I will always go 30 now but some people when you go 30 when there doesn't look like obvious danger about hate it.
