After David Tennant's shock announcement at the NTAs, who's favourite to get the keys to the Tardis?

It has been suggested on the radio that the time as come to have a Woman Dr Who, or a Black Dr Who, or an Asian Dr Who, all in the cause of PC of course.

Just had a thought, why not Jonathan Ross? Perhaps he could then go in the Tardis, and then disappear for all time.

I don't see a problem with a black or asian Dr Who,I don't think a female one would be very popular(or likely).
CJ from Eggheads .Talented ,unassuming ,clever , good looking , popular witty young already with the BBC yes its dear old Cj for me .
Catherine Tate?

I heard today James Nesbit would be considered - I think he would be excellent.
Love the sarcasm about CJ.

David Morrissey has been mentioned, in addition to some others whom I can't recall. I'm not a Who fan, but please not James Nesbit....
It should be a woman. Dawn French would be my choice. Funny, sexy, intelligent, and refreshing change from the skinny bimbos a lot of the media push at girls as stereotypes.
you joke re Jonathan Ross playing the Doctor, but actually a seriously great candidate would be Russell Brand

What would be fantastic would be if they could cast the Eleventh Doctor and keep it a secret until the regeneration appears on screen.
I do hope you were joking flipnflap about Russell Brand. If he gets it I would definitely never tune in again.

A big thumbs down as well to James Nesbit.

Perhaps they could persuade Christopher Eccleston to come back. He was better than David Tennant anyway.

Failing that, how about Tony from Coronation Street? He could just give the invading aliens one of his big-eyed stares and they'd soon scarper.
Eddie Izzard would get my vote.
I agree Eddie izzard
.... also how about .....
Peter Serafinowicz
Alan Davies
and I always thought Mark Warren would make a cute doctor
I guess we will just have to wait and see

...and if we are talking a female doctor , which I think will be highly unlikley then how about Liza tarbuck?...
Its definitely about time we had a female Doctor.

French or Saunders?
Ruth whatsername (Jones?) as per Gavin & Stacey?
I reckon the guy who played Rose's boyfriend in the first 2 (?) series would be quite good. Can't think of his name...
just a thought. if you watch hereos this will help. do you think that Dr. Suresh would make a good doctor who if he let go abit?
