For those keen to pick up some tips on the art of solving a cryptic crossword, there is an excellent documentary on BBC 4 tonight at 9 pm.

Included in the contributors is Colin Dexter of Morse fame.

Good info thankyou, I used to have a great book of tips for helping with these as you really do need a different thinking pattern.
But my first love will always be general knowledge ones.

Thanks, K. I saw that, but I can't get BBC4. Does anyone have any ideas as to where there might be a repeat, recording or transcript?

I just watched it on I Player because I can't get BBC 4 in fact we are lucky if we get a decent picture at all round here !
Very enjoyable .Nice to see who some of these compilers are .
Colin Dexter was sweet !
