Can anyone tell me, How old was Michael Staniforth (Timothy Claypole of Rent-a-Ghost ) when he died? Thankyou

When I was googling on this subject a few months ago I eventually found the dates 1945-1987, so he was either 41 or 42 - but it did not give more specific dates.

Michael Stanniforth, who played Timothy Claypole, wrote the theme tune. The original title planned for "Rentaghost" was "Second Chance", but this was not chosen as it was thought it might not appeal to children. His original song had to be re-written as concern grew that it was too close to The Exorcist. What happened to him exactly? Did he die from AIDS or something like that?
