I watched the first hour and have Skyplussed the rest.

I perked up a bit when theyt had bits of Manchester (the bit when the guy in the flashy car picked up the young lad) were in it though.

I thought it was very weak, with a few implausibilities. The "flu" epidemic had been building up for weeks and then, suddenly, everyone died in one night. The lack of bodies and damage, I would anticipate a lot more chaos and disorder if suddenly everyone started dropping like flies.

I'm glad that the scriptwriters are keeping to stereotypes and including a PC section of the population, not risking offending anyone. I'm also glad that the main protagonist has been to the "Eastenders and Soap Opera School of acting" which means that we are very ware that this is a play. Otherwise it would start to become real and might cause nightmares.
So, I'm waiting for the appearance of the evil scientist, the corrupt politician and the meglomaniac military man to tick all the boxes.

In other words... not well written and not well acted. My belief was not suspended!

I have to agree with fotografics, it was a very British middle class end of the world. They even stopped for a cup of tea. Where was the looting, rape and murder ?

And there did look like there were evil scientists in the clip of the next episode!

I too was wondering about the Dog and did everyone die in their beds hence no cars on the road. I am enjoying it, it is only a TV programme after all there to provide us with entertainment but I cant help but wonder how someone could have a really bad deathly virus, go to sleep for 3 days, wake up, and survive on 1 cracker????

On the subject of closing streets for filming, this has often been a nuisance where I used to live in Watford. Much filming is done around the area and little/no consult or notice given to residents.

I came home one night (to a house in a cul de sac) to find what looked liked a major disaster in the main road. Cops ignored me so I carried tentatively on. Around the bend I noticed cameras.

Judge John Deed was being filmed - and to hell with anyone who ventured thru it and wanted to get home the only way they could.

One night I also endured, for another prog, a huge set light playing straight into my house. It was so intense I was able to cook my dinner by it and needed no lights on in the house till the night shoot ended.

For me it lacked a sense of panic or chaos. It was like---the world and my son is dead, boo hoo, on to the next bit.

Hopefully it will improve so I will keep on watching for the moment

I agree, there was no panic and chaos at all!!! I did feeel half way through I should be feeling more excited than this and also when the car nearly ran the Boy over.... he was going preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeety fast...yet he didnt even do an emergency stop lol
