"Benjamin Fry
Psychotherapist and media expert Benjamin wants you to help yourself to a better life.

All of Benjamin Fry's work across a range of services and media has one thing in common; he uses professional expertise to help the lives of people who don't need professional help.

Benjamin's background is in psychotherapy and anyone can benefit from his help and ideas. He is making these skills of the mental health industries available to ordinary people on the high-street."

Ok, so I'm watching Spendaholics now, and in all fairness he has got some good ideas re Miriam Isherwood, her spending, her singing and her creativity, but why oh why oh why does he always talk to the person that has the problem (spending or food) about their childhoods??

Whenever I've seen him on Spendaholics or Freaky Eaters he quizzes them on their childhood and ALWAYS suggests that something in their childhood caused the problem. Does he never think people are just silly (be it with money or food) regardless of whether they had a less than perfect childhood or not??? I truly believe that any given person who has a problem in their life shouldn't be told it was due to e.g. a childhood illness or bullying or death of a parent for example. Blame things in someone's past? Where's the hope?

Who agrees? Disagrees?

I can't stand Benjamin Fry, he is one of those people who I could quite happily slap if I came across him in the street. There is no emotion in his voice, he speaks in one boring monotonous tone all the time!

And I agree, he does seem to think that everyone had a terrible childhood and that is the cause of their problems. I am crap with money and overspend but I had a very happy childhood thanks, I just like spending money!
The one where he got the women to lay in a coffin was brilliant.....

On the one hand I agree, but on the other, these people clearly have problems, while they might indeed be silly accepting that is never easy (would make for a rather short show if it was). By connecting behaviour with the past he is demonstrating that they can do things to change their future.

the guy is just brilliant and you all have not got a clue
