memory card in phone

ive just downloaded my pictures by inputting memory card direct in to computer, it stayed there all night. when i have taken it out to put back in my phone, firstly it would not go in, so i tried a few times and then it burnt me? it did this three times and was actually quite painful.

my question is this, obviously the memory card has been damaged in some way, so i'm going to throw it, but why and how did it burn me??
