Countdown.........ageist?

Just saw Carols last countdown, so sad made me cry.
Would any one else consider a boycott of the new one for being ageist?

It was a pay cut of 90%. A bit much to ask of any one to take lying down.

Depends.
If I was - as rumoured - earning a million pounds a year, and that source of income generated as many spin-offs for CV as Countdown has, I would seriously think about taking the drop, in the interests of maintaining my other employment.
After all, it's hardly working in a caol mine is it, and it's not as if she is a shining light in other areas of TV presentation.
I really do feel that the media have whipped up a storm out of nothing very much at all.
It's a popular afternoon TV quiz show, let's not forget that. Carol Vorderman is an average TV presenter with no sense of humour who has cornered a niche market and made serious money out of it.
Even if I was a fan, I couldn't get seriously worked up about the fact that she has chosen to leave - it's just not that important an event.
Is it.
