MM Links Solutions December 2008 [Week 2]

At a time when we thought things couldn't get worse ~ they just did! This second week in the reign of Lady Slaney was about to yield only one more mark than the first week. You must recall that Lady Slaney succeeded Sir Strix, so it is likely that her brain is at least as complex as his. With this in mind, I can now reveal that her chosen links based on the theme of Boys Club were:

APPLE Jack
BUFFALO Bill
HALL Mark
Tom FOOLERY

As with last week, all Links were found (eventually), but points were thin on the ground!

This week, I thought we could be in for reasonable scores when the first entrant, forward was �spot on� with APPLE JACK and claimed TWO POINTS. Within one minute, ex-champion Christiana also had a tipple for the same bonus points!

Another minute went by before Entrant #11 in the form of roslyn251254 was standing no TOM FOOLERY so close to her birthday and demanded her TWO POINTS. She was followed by gen2, who was outside the two-minute window with his Apple Jack, so he picked up only One Point.

There followed a longish spell of 24 minutes before ex-champion kettledrum arrived with BUFFALO BILL at 09.29 to score a bull�s eye for TWO POINTS! What was rather rare was at 09.30 miss meg arrived with the same Buffalo Bill to claim her Two Points! This tends to happen over the first five minutes of play ~ not after half an hour!

The final link word stood unclaimed until 10.15 when (can you guess?) wickedtongue showed the HALL MARK of an ex-champion extraordinaire and claimed the final TWO POINTS. That reminds me, I settled up my �5 bet this weekend for gambling on Mare Nostradamus! Thereafter there was no further scoring for the remainder of the game.

With no-one scoring more that two points this weekend, it is difficult to nominate the HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK until you realise that only one person has picked up points on both weeks ~ and that is kettledrum. I declare that she should take the coveted honour!

Golly! I'm completely gob-smacked! Am so used to scoring no points that I forgot to check up on Lady Slaney's links last week ... have now done so and see that not only did I score, I was hotshot of the week as well!! 2 weeks in a row - is that a record? Thank you Crofter, and thank you Gen2 for last week's accolade. And especial thanks to Lady S for being on the same wavelength as me

I am enjoying it strix, but some what hampered by lack of a whip!

Oh for Pete's sake - last month was bad enough slaney - is this a case of 'anything you can I can do better' - well you're making a pretty good fist of it so far

Well all I can say is that if Slaney managed to work out Strix's way of thinking...that's why I've not managed anything again!! :-((
