Is anyone aware a free programme to COPY files from drive C to an external hard disk; rather a programme that will clone "C". hanks in antisipation Cyrilbiker

If all you want to do is copy FILES (like photos, mp3 files or other personal files) then this capability is already built in to Windows and is very easy to do.
If you want to copy INSTALLED PROGRAMS then this is more difficult and it is not a good idea to put installed programs on an external drive anyway.
Or is it something else you want to do?

Thks VHG, I see what you mean e question did not come out like I wanted it to. I have been having prolems with I E7 over recent weeks. I can make a connection open the homepage go a site like theanswerbank and before I can finish typing a short message like this a message "internet explorer (& Firefox) cannot display the webpage. I have
tried various things to correct this without success. So what I wanted to do was copy all the files from C to an external H/D and format C: and start again. I've got ghost image from Oct but it won't restore so I wanted to try something differnt. I am not too worried about the theprogrammes but I have a lot of old stuff I would like to go through before fomatting. I am using a clapped out laptop and the keys are stcking.
