Do you need permission to photograph in public e.g Street?

Im not sure about still photography but if its TV OR FILM you need: > No filming permit for public areas in Britain (99% sure), but obviously do speak to local authorities if you will cause disruption (e.g. traffic jams) > permission from the land owner if on private land. > You may need to apply for a filmning permit when abroad. (even if on private land) > NEVER film without permission if in America - especially in cities (phone the mayors office in advance for permission)- In LA you will need a permit for every shot! And you will have to pay for one!
