Does anybody know what the yellow-coloured "pack" is that Kevin McCloud wears on his back whilst climbing the buildings?

It's too flat/empty to be a parachute and (not being a climber) I can't think what else it could be.

For his sandwiches, maybe?
I havent seen it, but possibly a hydration pack, used by high altitude skiers and climbers?

He might keep drinking water in it, or just use it to carry production equipment maybe batteries, mike transmitter etc..

er, mic transmitter, not Mike Transmitter, the sound engineer - that would be silly.

Possibly, Ocatvius, but I don't think so.

It looks about the same size and shape as (I can't think of anything else to use as a description!) a seat on a swing! :o) But it's very flat, almost as if there is nothing in it.

The programme is on at 7.30pm Mon-Fri on Discovery (Sky+ channel number 520).
Oh right, maybe just the harness and safety equipment then?
I still think it'll be for sandwiches....
is this an old programme? i saw the trailer on sky anytime and his hair appears to be growing back.

It started on Discovery last week having been billed as a "new series". However, I'm sure I saw "BBC" in last night's credits!
I thought he had more hair too so searched the internet. Turns out he did a show for BBC2 in 2000 called Don't Look Down. Looks like its just been renamed by sky and billed as new!

I looked at the credits last night and the year of the prog was shown as "MM" (2000).

I also found out that the yellow "pack" is a seat - he used it when absailing down the outside of the Trellick Tower.
