I can't remember much of this cartoon and I really want the name. It was similar to the Raccoons in style. Opening credits started on a spinning world. Voice-over said something about them protecting their home (they were animals living in a forest) and that they are The ...... Then the faces of the characters would shoot towards the screen. In between the action of them batting to save their forest from the evil character there would be an interlude with different characters. I remember there being longitude and latitude, who were rabbits, running around the world singing.

Are you sure it wasn't The Raccoons? Your description fits the show perfectly. The voice over began something like, "Deep in the Everglade Forest..."

They looked like this: http://tinyurl.com/49agb and there was that freaky pink thing called Bert: http://tinyurl.com/6ym8d.

Was it The Gummybears??
It was definately The Racoons

IndieSinger:

That freaky pink thing is Cedric Sneer (son of Cyril Sneer) He's standing next to Bert Racoon.

From memory, the voice over to the Racoons goes:

"This is the evergreen forest,

Quiet, peaceful, serene...

That is until Bert Racoon Wakes up!

(Musical Interlude)

Life would be peaceful in the forest exept for...

Cyril Sneer

And his life would be peaceful exept for...

THE RACOONS!"

If anyone knows where to get the end titles theme 'Run with us' on CD let me know.

I know it has been a good 4 years since I asked the above question, but I have now found out my own answer! The programme I was thinking of was The Bluffers - a little known cartoon that came over from The Netherlands in 1986. http://www.classickidstv.co.uk/wiki/The_Bluffe rs

The creatures look a bit similar to those from The Dreamstone and the premise is similar to The Racoons:

"Bluffunia was once a beautiful land before the crazed maniac Clandestino took over Clandestino turned that beautiful place, into this. Why? Because Clandestino is afraid the Bluffers will get his secret - the secret of getting it all!"

Thanks to those who have tried to help me out.
