where in the uk are the best and worst places for lorries to park for the night, not having to be official truckstops just good/bad places for food and drink e.g  also is there anywhere in ayr or blackpool to park and just where is the best truckstop

Worst Places: Any Motorway Services, most Nightowl (ex BP) Truckstops (had my trailer curtains slashed 8 times at the Birtley one).

Best : I always used to like Crawley Crossing (J13 M1) Good cafe and security patrol through the night, Colsterworth R'about truckstop on A1, Londonderry Truckstop on the A1.

Don't know any near Blackpool. Nearest is probably Poplar 2000 at M6 J20 (Lymm), or if you are coming South, Carnforth Truckstop M6 J35.

Never got as far as Ayr!
