Has anyone else enjoyed the Victorian Farm series on B.B.C. two? The re-enactment portrayed a hard but somehow idyllic lifestyle long forgotten in this materialistic age.
I thought Ruth Goodman the lady of the farm cottage came over especially well, her down to earth approach with all that was demanded of her was absolutely super.
Sometimes I think the adage spoken by the Terry Collier character in the last series of the "Likely Lads" rings so true ... "The only thing to look forward to is the past..".......
I was hooked on the series and was sad when it ended last night. I loathe reality TV but I stumbled on this gem by accident.
I know I will never moan about my housework again!
I too fell on this programme by accident and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the past and watch everything I can to do with it. I hope it comes out on DVD, it was just as my maternal grandma used to live, she used to wear a bucket on her arm like a handbag and hardly had a change of clothes - hard life.
Hi Auntie,
I watched every one! Absolutely loved it! Pips, I believe there is a dvd coming out! Who would like the opportunity to re live the past? I always think I would, dont know whether I could though! To use to the luxurys of modern day.
