it is a shame, though we only know about it because she is in the public eye. Many people die young that we don't know about. You can only hope this will encourage other young people to have check-ups.

she did have check ups but it was missed

Why are so many smears mis-diagnosed (sp)? I've been for 2 smears in the past which came out as inconclusive. I have to go every 6 months now due to having a cold type virus down there last year.

This is such devastating news for Jade, her Mum & her two boys.

Although it happens to lots of people 'not in the public eye', it's still an awful thing to happen to her & at such a young age too.

I do hope that the time she has left with her family, will be peaceful & pain free....

tigger, the smears are examined in the thousands by people who spend all day, every day, looking at them through a microscope. Their attention is bound to wander from to time.

I do empathise tigger.

I had pre-cancerous cells detected when I was 38. It was such a shock & a very worrying time for me & my family. However, because it was caught early & after succesful treatment, I've since had the all clear. Thank God.

It is going to be so much harder to pass away under the glare of publicity, I hope she is able to find a place peaceful and private with her close family.

I don't doubt it Ethel, however as it could be a matter of life and death they need to be more stringent with their testing to prevent such cases as Jade and her plight.

This poor girl needs love & attention, not reminders of what her boyfirend has done & went to prison for.

She didn't hurt anyone - he did.
