Emmerdale

I've watched Emmerdale for some time now (sad or what?) and I've noticed that on the wall by the bar there's a calendar,I think,with pictures of the Red Arrows on it. I think there's another Red Arrows related picture too,does anybody know why and what the connection is with the programme?

Thanks for your reply Raoldo M. Great photo, but I still don't know what happened,did they just visit the set or were they part of a story ilne?

Thank you chinadog, I reckon that's the answer,and the timing is right ,too. The photo was from 2001 and the Emmerdale Extravaganza has been running for about 7 years. When my son was very young we used to take him to air-shows and he loved the Red Arrows. We were on holiday in Sidmouth in Devon one year and found out that the team was staying in the hotel next to ours,my husband took Matthew over to their hotel and asked at reception whether it would be possible for him to see them,but not feeling very optimistic. Reception asked him to wait while she rang their manager and shortly the whole team came down to the reception area to meet him and sign autographs! Unbelievable! One VERY happy 9 year old! That year I sent a birthday card asking the team if they could sign it for him and send it back and they did that as well. What great people.

The line producer in Emmerdale, Tim Fee is a good friend of ex. Red Arrow Chris Carder who did actually appear in an episode in 2001 hence the Red Arrow pictures in The Woolpack set along with The Blades aerobatic team pictures and Typhoon.
Tim is also a big fan of The Reds etc.
