Ebay enhaced picture uploader and firefox problem

I switched from using IE to Mozilla Firefox last year and had no problems till recently. When trying to upload scanned pictures onto ebay I found the images came out sideways as scanned not as my edited version with added text. The ebay editing facility I used not long ago seems to have gone. I emailed ebay who replied with long explanation which boiled down to saying download Enhanced Picture Uploader and ActiveX.
I made several failed attempts to do this and eventually think the problem is it is only possible using IE. But whenever I use IE to open ebay it comes up as 'ebay via Mozilla
Firefox'. It is as though Firefox has taken over.
Anybody got a solution?

My solution would be to not use ebay's picture service to host any picture except for the first one - which is free - and which is used for the gallery picture ebay put next to your item's listing when people search.

Use a "free" picture hot - like Photobucket - then you get full control over the pictures and you don't have to pay ebay fees for them.
