Is this fair??

Well, yes. I think so. Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand should pay the BBC fine. After all, its their fault. An appalling breach of manners - to say the least.... I'm SO glad that neither of them belong to me.

The Beeb's abject weakness was illustrated by the fact that Ross was not sacked, as he should have been. They simply did not want to lose their "golden boy", therefore merely slapped his wrist instead of properly punishing him.
It is this contemptuous attitude by the Beeb towards its customers which makes my blood boil. I agree that Ross and Brand should pay at least a portion of the fine, but of course they won't, we will !!

Oh for goodness sake, talk about jump on the bandwagon
Neither of them deserved to lose anything, either money or job. The prank was not in good taste perhaps, but really, it has been blown up out of all proportion.
It all happened months ago and it really is rather boring now ro hear of 'disgusted from Tonbridge' carrying on a very large storme in a rather small tea-cup

The fault lies squarly with the BBC, and it should pay the bill and take the flak from the public.
Ross and Brand behaved badly, but the only reason anyone outside the studio on that night knows about it, is because the producer failed in his responsibility to edit the show in advance, and higher management passed the material as fit for broadcast. That is the remit of the BBC, not the presenters, and the BBC should accept responsibiity accordingly.
