Parkinson slams Goody
50 Answers
He said: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of. Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di.
"When we clear the media smoke screen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today.
"She was brought up on a sink estate, as a child came to know drugs and crime, was barely educated, ignorant and puerile. Then she was projected to celebrity by Big Brother and became a media chattel to be exploited til the day she died."
What did you think?
I am gonna be brave and say I happen to agree with the guy!

I agree, but think his comments were badly timed. However, it is the Media and the public that are to blame for all the hype - let's not think too badly of Jade, she just took advantage of the situation to make some money and who wouldn't.
Actually, I felt just as sickened by all the hype over Princess Di's funeral, she certainly wasn't a saint or a martyr - again, in my opinion a frenzy whipped up by the media. People are like sheep!!!

He may have thought it, as many others may also think it, but I don't think he had to say it.
I think he has been very lucky to get where he did considering where he came from and I don't think he appreciates that. My Dad saw him in a pub once, mistaking him for someone he had once worked with on a building site. My dad said hello and got a reply of "oh god here we go again".
There but for the grace of god, me thinks.

I'm divided, although comparisons to Princess Di...errrr WTF..!!!
She had her place and maybe inspired some 'council scum' to aim higher.
She was not thick. She was an intelligent woman that lacked basic education. IQ is not about knowing how to spell or where East Angula is.
She's a victim of her upbringing and she made good.
I may also be more sympathetic as my beautiful beloved Father died last year to cancer. I know how hard it is to watch someone die.
My opinion may be different otherwise......who knows!!
