Did anyone else think this was a bit of a rip-off from Stephen King's "The Langoliers"?

Yes I did think of the Langoliers when I saw the trailer. The graphics were a hell of a lot better though.LOL
Frankly I was a little disappointed. It had the potential for real tension, but just as the tension built, they got away.
Did not like Michelle Ryans character, and did not approve of DW helping her to escape.

I was disappointed too. It gave the impression of having been knocked together quickly just to have something for Easter.
It has been some time since I saw The Langoliers but my memory tells me the 'monsters' were quite similar.
oh I really enjoyed it. I didnt really like the michelle ryan character, and my mum even understood what was going on which makes a change :-)
i am very familiar with the Langoliers film, but don';t watch Dr Who now, maybe it was the intention to reference the story, everyone creative draws inspiration from their influences I suppose

I have not read the book and it is along time since I saw 'The Langoliers' and that was on television. I remember only two things.
1. I didn't think it was very good
2. The grotesque caricature played by Bronson Pinchot
Ive never seen The Langoliers so I enjoyed Dr Who. Thought that Michelle Ryan wasn't very good though.
