Magazine Subscription - Free Gift - Conde Naste

Conde Naste have now twice conned me into taking out a subscription by promising me a gift that does not materialise. This happened a couple of years ago with Easy Living, and I just took out a House and Garden subscription with the promise of a Molton Brown double set of hand wash and hand cream worth �27 and they sent me a Bahoma (who?) fragrance diffuser. Needless to say I am cancelling my subscription. Has anyone actually received the free gift they were promised or is this just an incentive so you subscribe to their magazines ??

If you look very carefully at small print, it usually says, 'for first 500 subscribers' or while stocks last'.
It's a con really to get people to subscribe.

Probably not, no, but you can't prove it either can you?

I must have been lucky then.. i took out two subscriptions, one for tatler, which came with a benefit foot product, and one for glamour which came with a set of 6 VO5 products. It took a while for the gifts to show up, but i got them both times.
