In the last episode of Ashes to Ashes. At the end of the programme, Summers, the cop who had also returned to 1982 like Alex, put a gun to her head and was probably going to fire it only he got shot by Gene Hunt. Why did he want to kill her if he had actually returned to do good and put things right re. the bank heist? Didn't get that.

hang on - i thought it was that blonde irish woman who had hold of her at the end and was threatening to shoot her - did i miss something?

No, the blonde woman went to fire the gun and Alex elbowed it away but in the meantime Gene had shot at her but got Alex by mistake.

But yes, it makes sense now that Summers' bullet was meant to send her back to present day as the bullet she received in 2008 had sent her back to the 80's originally.
