Just how funny was this... I thought it was great.. Peter Kay and Patrick McGuinness are amazing.. But is it better than Phoenix Nights?

It was fantastic. Especially the dirty dancing scenes and the very end with Paddys DVD. :)

Very good, enjoyed it, but wouldn't like to say if it's going to be as good as Phoenix nights, that was EXCELLENT!

OOOoooOOOOoh is it better..???....hmm it was excelent, and it promises to get even better, we've only seen the first episode, I adore phoenix nights and this jury will be out until I've seen the whole of this series...

oh yes did anyone else spot peter's mam in the dancing bears crowd scene at the beginning??..I know I am a sad geek...I wonder if she's gonna be an extra in every episode...?

I've never really watched Phoenix Nights, but i must say, i thought Max & Paddy's Road to Nowhere was very funny. Loved the "Dirty Dancing" scene. Perhaps i'd better watch Phoenix Nighys in future!

I thought it was really terrible and I loved Phoenix Nights.

I loved it! As of now I prefere Phoenix Nights, but Max and Paddy is excellent as well. I can't judge for sure until I've seen more episodes.

I thought it was awful, and I really hated the way that Kay tried to shoehorn in a new catchphrase for Max - 'how dare you'. I don't think the characters are strong enough to carry a show on their own and I can only hope that a new series of Phoenix Nights is on the way to wash the taste of this rubbish out of my mouth.
