I was (and still am) so furious that I dispatched two emails to STV in order to complain. I asked specific questions but all I got back was a standard response designed to fob me off.
STV don't seem to care about the large audience it generated, or the advertising revenue it brought in.
It looks like the sad end to an era.

Hi I have had a reply from ITV in which they have said that tha Bill will be repeated on ITV3 from 29th July ,I asked why it was not on ITV Catch up ,it seems it is due to contracts with makers of the show .
I have an e mail which is avaliable for all to read if someone could explain in simple terms how to post it on Answerbank,
When you do see the show I would be very interested to hear your views.
Cheers The Old Bill.

I think that at the very least Reg deserved a good send of when he went ,I am not sure if he has fully recovered as yet ,I really wish him well,I suppose you know that the next one to go is Graham Cole " PC Tony Stamp"The reasons for the staff cuts is that being reduced to 1 night a week there really is no need for so many full time actors ,so expect more extras and bit part actors instead.
My problem with the bill is that there is no real drama, no bite, everything is at one pace ,except for the odd car chase .
Here in the UK we used to be the leaders in Dramas and comedy but I feel that we are being overtaken by many other countries .
Take a look at some Police dramas from Canada ,USA,and Australia some good stuff coming from those countries.
GEN2 I believe that the Bill will be shown in your area in the next couple of weeks and repeats will be on ITV3
Cheers Old Bill

I must say I enjoyed the story spread over the 2 nights.
The new theme music, I don't like. I was sitting doing a crossword, as I do, waiting for the familiar tune to catch my attention, to find that the story was 2 minutes into the start before I realised it had begun.
Also, can anyone tell me why ITV1 is showing these episodes again on Monday and Tuesday of this week at 10.35??? They must be strapped for cash if they can't find anything else to fill in this hour. Repeat it on ITV2 by all means, but not ITV1!!
