I notice people asking advise on many subjects on Answerbank are still not bothering to acknowledge that they are thankful when receiving intelligent and helpful answers to their queries. I`m sure just a short `thanks` doesn`t take too much of their time, especially when the answer involves sometimes several minutes research by the experts to post `links` etc. It`s much appreciated to know if you received and understood the answers given......There, I`ve had my moan, and now to bed.` Night all`

I personally don't give a damn as I don't tend to re-visit a topic that I have answered from my own knowledge. I take it as read that the person asking a query will be grateful for any respectable answer.

Carlton, Pot and Kettle in the same sentence spring to mind:- http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Comp uters/Question793514.html
Give Carlton a chance fadeout, maybe he had to go out & do real life things after posting that Q.
I agree, it's always good to have your answer appreciated but if it it only required a short factual reply I try not to bother too much about thanks.
What does irritate me is when someone posts a debate/discussion type question, lots of people answer & the poster never returns! Do they strike up conversations in real life & walk away as soon as the other people join in I wonder? :o)

I agree too,
I am fed up with searching out (sometimes) difficult answers and receiving NO thanks.
If people can't be bothered to say thank you, cannot they at least give a star rating. That way you would at least know they had seen the answer.
The way it is now you just feel like doing something for nothing!

Evenin' all! I post occasionally on here and when I do, I always try to thank everyone for their responses even if they are not in agreement with what I have said, it shows appreciation and respect for the fact that others have bothered to spend the time to post their thoughts and advice. The first time I ever posted on this site was to ask for legal advice about my partner who had been attacked by a stranger. I was extremely touched by the thoughtful and helpful responses I received and made sure that I thanked everyone and also kept them informed as to the outcome of the case.
And yes Robinia I agree it is infuriating when people ask a question and then never return to their post! Makes you wonder why they bother!
Cheers all
