Did the famous surrealist artist Salvador Dali really make a film with Alfred Hitchcock?

Yes, the dream sequence in Spellbound (1945) incorporates a Dali backcloth covered with scary wide-open eyes with long, spindly eyelashes. Dali wanted to cover Ingrid Bergman in ants too, but she wasn't very keen.
"When Hitchcock made Spellbound ' the first Hollywood film to take Freud seriously ' he hired Dali to design the dream sequences. It seemed a perfect match.
"The first mainstream movie to bring psychoanalysis to the screen would be assisted by the flamboyant Catalan painter, a man whose reputation as a showman and illusionist rivalled that of even the most egotistical film director.
