The Rock n Roll years (BBC)

Hi to the good folks of the answerbank!
Does anyone remember the outstanding BBC Music/News documentaries aired in the 80's and 90's covering current affairs and music from a selected year (1956 - 1989) ? back when the BBC used to show worthwhile television!
I was wondering if anyone might perhaps know where these could be downloaded from the internet, or perhaps bought on DVD? Any help or advice would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance

I used to love this programme, I used to watch it with my parents.

You may find a few episodes on ebay. I can't find it anywhere else. (Sorry about the mega long link lol)

The BBC have said that they will not release it on DVD due to the copyright of the music involved.
