Hazel O'Connor

Does anyone remember Hazel O'connor, a singer from the eighties?  She was also in a programme called, i think, " Bangles" which was on Saturday teatime-ish...anybody know what happened to her, she seemed to just disappear?

She moved to Ireland about 10 years ago.  She's been touring & is still performing. More info here:

Saw her performing in a pub a few weeks ago, just her singing with backing by Cormac De Barra on his Irish Harp.  I know it doesn't sound as though it should work, but it does!  She sang a lot of her old stuff, Eighth Day, Big Brother, Will You as well as newer stuff.  Bought her CD, Acoustically Yours, released on Invisible Hands Music.  Try www.invisiblehands.co.uk and www.hazeloconnor.com

I saw her perform at a free festival early 80s with Madness, Paul Weller, The Damned and others.

She is playing at the London Astoria in December.

I met her briefly when we went to see Earth, Wind, & Fire at Wembley Arena in the early 80s.  She's tiny !
