alive in a coffin

what is the name of the film wear a man is trying to escape from prison, and he decides to escape by hiding in a coffin. his friend was then suppose to dig him out but he lights a match in the coffin only to find his friend lying there dead? i just cant remember the name of the film. its an old film. would appriciate it.

I don't know about a film but I remember that was in one of the Alfred Hitchcock Presents.. stories. Hope this is what you're after although if you were looking to get it on DVD I'm not sure if it's available.

i remember that! was the 'friend' a cleaner in the prison or something? I'm sure he worked there anyhow. Hmmm....going to do some investigating................

Im sure it was a girl who was trying to escape, and her friend was the gravedigger who was meant to free her !.

Just asked my dad, he seems to think it may have been on ' Tales of the unexpected '.

It seems everyone is correct here...  It was an Alfred Hitchcock Presents from the mid to late eighties (not the 1950's-60's shows, of which there were 266!) Many of the eighties shows were reworks of the earlier 50's-60's shows but this one I think was an origial, although I could be mistaken!

The character was a Woman and her accomplice was the undertaker. That episode gave me nightmares about being burried alive for years!

Does anyone remeber the one about a Playboy who kills off his rich wife, only to be killed off himself by her cats?!
