X Factor - v - Strictly Come Dancing
18 Answers
I have'nt watched any of the Strictly shows previously, but have got into this series, mostly because I feel all the contestants on X Factor just SHOUT they don't sing but SHOUT. I think this years lot are rubbish. They all sound the same and I get sick of seeing them crying saying 'I don't know what I am going to do if I don't get through, this will be my last chance' . etc etc etc.

I agree Zac - its the same old thing time and time again. These kids should realise even if they do win X Factor, theres a slim chance after making their first hit record, Simon Cowell will drop them.
Look at Susan Boyle - she has made her first record, but she won't be able to go on tour and do concerts. So her shelf life will be very short lived.

I watched the boot camp selection process last night and there was not one singer worthy of any praise!! I am so sick of warbling female, stupid groups, tears and over inflated egos. Haven't seen the run ups to boot camp this year. Shan't be watching again.
There again, I don't like Strictly - same old, same old.
I want some really good television, but I have my doubts it will happen.

Hi peri Excellent dramas and documentaries and real entertainment shows with proper entertainers like there were years ago. I just can't stand all this reality television and 'Celebrity this or that'. No more makeover shows please. I must admit there are still some excellent documentaries. Oh and I like satirical comedy. For the most part these days I prefer the radio.
Radio also means I can do other things whilst I am listening. I love the music and chat during the day and the talks and plays. I could never give up my radio or my music centre (or the computer). the television could go as far as I am concerned. We also have a small one anyway and only the five channels (but can't get Ch. 5). We went on holiday and had a bigger tele with Sky and Freeview and what a waste of time.
I can watch Corrie on the computer Peri. As you know I love Corrie!!!

Stopped watching this show lsome time ago, as my ears couldn't take any more.
There's not a singer among them. Just screeching and yodelling their way up and down the scale. sound as if they're gargling with broken glass. Tuneless yowling for the most part, and they're all so horribly same-y.
What they lack in musical talent they make up for with sheer volume. The worse singer they are the louder they are. Probably a knockout at the Dog and Duck on karaoke night when the audience is half drunk and don't know what or who they're listening to.

ahmskunnirt. I appreciate that Sky has some good programmes but all those you mention are years old!!! I have seen them all years ago many times 'cos I am old. I don't want repeats, I want some new excellent dramas and comedies etc. ;o). The programmes you mention just prove to me that tele has gone downhill.
ahmskunnirt, with lofty again. i loved all those programmes when they were on years ago, and occasionally i feel nostalgic enough to have a brief watch, but when i do they just seem really naff, tired and dated. i watched the original knight rider the other week and failed to see why i loved it so much - even had the toy car, but not quite the michael knight action figure.
